Golden Bear Press Release
Golden Bear have nearly 30 years experience producing some of the hottest, best known licensed products and 2007 will be no exception with a wealth of new lines based on some of the most sought after children’s characters.
The Telford-based toy manufacturer is excited about the extension of their Draw and Drive concept, which allows children to draw a line on a colourful playmat and watch as their favourite character magically follows. With the successful launch of the Noddy Draw and Drive in 2006, it is set to become a ‘must have’ product in 2007 when a host of new characters will be introduced including Bob the Builder, Dora The Explorer, Scooby Doo and Cars, as well as launching a deluxe version for Thomas the Tank Engine.
The interactive Thomas Draw and Drive works on the same pioneering principle with Thomas following a line drawn on a board, but has sound, too. Each time Thomas passes a sound chip, hidden in the board, he interacts with the nearest character or feature on the board. An extensive TV advertising campaign is planned to support this fantastic range during Autumn/Winter 07.
Golden Bear are also delighted to announce their acquisition of the brand new licence, Shaun the Sheep. The famous sheep, created by renowned animators Aardman, will be returning to the public eye in 2007 when the character will star in his very own TV show. As would be expected of Golden Bear, a fantastic new toy range will launch next year to coincide with the programme’s broadcast and the range will include a Shivering Shaun and a superb Dancing Shaun, which is being TV advertised during the year. All the items in the collection will reflect perfectly the quirky and humorous characteristics of Shaun.
The company continues to be the Master Toy Licensee for Noddy, one of the most popular pre-school licenses of the last year few years. Golden Bear consistently evolve the Noddy range to complement the essence of the character in the TV programme.
The innovative My First Noddy Track Set, aimed at children from 18 months, features a figure of eight track with bridge, a battery-operated car and Noddy figurine along with other accessories from Toyland. Just place Noddy in his car to set him off on his travels and hear the ‘Make Way for Noddy’ theme tune.
The brand new My First Noddy Train set features a crossing, crash barriers and signals with a Drop-in Drive feature in the train. It is also compatible with the Track Set so can be combined to make a fantastic deluxe set. Both are being TV advertised in 2007.
Golden Bear’s Talking Thomas and Friends range continue to be the most sought after trains for young Thomas fans everywhere. Following the renewal of their longstanding contract with HIT Entertainment, the company will also add to the range bringing in yet more new characters to the collection.
Another Thomas winner will be the Thomas Drive Away – just pop the driver through the chute in the engine shed and watch as the engines drive away with a peep peep, chuff, chuff and various phrases. Launched at Toy Fair in January 2007 this, along with the Talking Engines will be heavily TV advertised from August.
