Watch Mandeville and Wenlock on BBC1 tonight!

The Opening Ceremony for the London 2012 Olympic Games are just a few hours away. However, a day full of events and celebration has been planned, started at 8,12 this morning. A group of bell ringers rang the Big Ben bells for over three minutes.

The torch relay is making its way to the Olympic Stadium which he crowds lining the banks of te Thames as it travels on the Jubilee Barge. Tonight crowds will be watching Stereophonics Snow Patrol, Duran Duran and Paolo Nutini in Hyde Park and the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh are hosting a reception at Buckingham Palace with heads of governments and heads of state including First Lady Michelle Obama.

Before the opening ceremony kicks off at the Olympic Stadium, the Golden Bear Olympic Mascots will be starring in their own animation on BBC 1. This will be the perfect time to sit down with the kids to watch Wenlock and Mandeville come to life on your television screens and enjoy a night of unforgettable television together.

Don't miss all the fun, the Opening Ceremony will kick off at 9pm tonight, and the torch is due to arrive at the stadium around midnight where it will be held by a special VIP guest. Who could it be? Any guesses?
