Enjoying the garden this bank holiday

The Bank Holiday is upon us, the perfect time to get out in the garden and start tidying up for the summer. The sun is supposed to shine so there are no excuses. Having toddlers and young children at home can put a hinder on Bank Holiday odd jobs, so we have put together some fun ideas to help keep your children occupied that will allow you to keep on working – just keep the eyes in the back of your head peeled too.

Fun in the Garden

If you are outside you will want the children outside too. We recommend digging out an old blanket, spreading it out on the lawn and bringing out some toys for your child to sit and play with. Playsets, such as the Ben and Holly’s Little Magical Playset can be great out on the lawn as they are easy to pack up at the end of play – ideal if there is a sudden rain storm too.

Cars and durable toys such as the Go MINI and My First JCB are great for out in the garden. They are designed to be extra durable and your child can have lots of fun playing with them. If you have a sandpit why not encourage your children to start digging or create a car racing track – they’ll be busy for hours.

You could ask your child to help you in the garden. Give them their own pot of dirt and let them plant up some seeds. It can also be heaps of fun walking around watering the plants and this is an easy job that most children adore.

At the end of the busy day treat the family to some al-fresco dining with a picnic on the blanket or even a barbeque. Bring out some sleeping bags and get cosy in the fresh air together to enjoy the fruits of your hard work in the garden.
