In the Night Garden has been a global success. Created by a former English teacher, Anne Wood, it very quickly became loved by babies and embraced by their parents. Set in a wood, it brings a mixture of CGI and actors together to form the perfect show to watch before bedtime. Youngsters seem to enjoy the antics of Makka Pakka, Iggle Piggle and all of his friends and being set in a calming environment it helps to encourage children to wind down at the end of a busy day and prepare for bed.
Parents with brand new babies have voiced their delight with the show. The songs and music have a way of keeping children transfixed and entertained but this is a show that is more than just a way of helping children relax and give you time to put your feet up for a few minutes. The stories and activities in the show are said to help support early development.
The best way to get the most out of a show for small babies is to limit the time you spend watching it and to always sit together to watch the show. Repeat the songs, the sounds and the noises and as your child gets older introduce the topics and the loveable characters into their play time.Television shows such as In the Night Garden are fantastic for reinforcing what your child is learning through you and the world around you. They are also fantastic for inspiring the imagination.
