Marketing Manager

Salary negotiable

Full-time and permanent (35 hours per week)


We are excited to be advertising for the role of a Marketing Manager to be based in our office in Telford with the possibility of some homeworking.  This role will report into the UK Sales & Marketing Director.


Role Objective


You will be responsible for managing our highly collaborative marketing function to ensure we are fully engaging with our target audiences and developing opportunities for growth. You will use market insights and analysis to influence strategies at brand level.



  • Understand optimisation and a test and learn approach through all marketing
  • Work closely with the Brand Managers to capture and analyse market intelligence to improve audience targeting / engagement and identify new trends in the market
  • Gather and act on competitor analysis to help inform business decisions
  • Understand our brands and target markets to support BMs in reaching their audiences online
  • Provide insights and proposed Marketing messages across all brands
  • Channel Management - identify and communicate a proposed mix of marketing channels, traditional and digital to ensure the best reach and ROI within an agreed budget
  • Manage the Digital Marketing Co Ordinator to deliver in their role to own and manage the digital marketing budget with 100% accuracy throughout the year
  • Work towards achieving ‘Best in Class’ paid social media campaigns
  • Develop and maintain marketing reporting to the wider business in collaboration with the Brand Managers and Digital Marketing Coordinator
  • Strong knowledge of SEO supporting BMs and sales admin team to ensure products always have best SEO on product launch
  • Understanding keyword research and competitor analysis
  • Onboard, manage and develop external media partners including but not exhaustive TV, PR, Copy Writing, influencer, review platforms and digital agencies to deliver the best ROI for the business and expand Golden Bear’s knowledge
  • Manage and support the Digital Assets Creator to create digital content including digital demo videos, digital marketing assets and all other assets for sell through online and social media.
  • Provide a central hub for market intelligence to be disseminated across the business with a focus on audience insights.
  • Work closely with Sales team to deliver retailer marketing campaigns and manage marketing relationships with priority retail partners.
  • Advise on the development of sales support materials to embed a commercial focus.
  • Competent in creating presentations and proposals for potential partners, licensors, retailers and ability to present these externally
  • Amazon – work closely with Sales Manager on everything Amazon related including:
    • AMS – review and refine on a constant basis maximizing sales and maintaining momentum + monitoring stock to not waste money.
    • Amazon Sales – Reviewing sales daily/weekly to help link with AMS and content updates + keeping an eye on pricing.
    • Amazon Search – Updating search ranking report weekly for list of targeted key terms and sharing around the business.
    • Helium 10 – Continuing to use Helium 10 where possible to help with key words and get sales info on lines across EU and USA
    • Understanding Amazon algorithms and altering product content when these change
  • Develop, implement, and manage a strategy to build the Golden Bear brand, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints and adding value based on prior experience, market insights and feedback from the market.
  • Be responsible for trade marketing communication for Golden Bear including the organisation of domestic and international exhibitions


Management Responsibilities

You will have a proven track record of leading an innovative, agile, and successful team who consistently meet deadlines and deliver against company KPI’s.  You have a passion for people management with the ability to effectively manage individual and team performance in accordance with agreed objectives.  You will lead from the front with drive and enthusiasm providing clear direction, motivation, and support, prioritising a regular open forum for timely, two-way constructive feedback.  In conjunction with the Directors and HR, you will resource the team with the right skills at the right time and assist in the training and professional development of team members.  You will foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department and cross-departmental team members that allows for the sharing of knowledge and best practices, healthy disagreement over ideas, conflict resolution, the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, support, and working effectively together to enable individual and companywide successes.  You understand the importance of transparent communication and will demonstrate/encourage this amongst your team.


Key Capabilities

  • It is essential you have people management experience, ideally 2 years plus.
  • You will have a Digital Marketing qualification - degree or CIM qualification in marketing and two years’ experience in a hands-on marketing role: preferably web design, Amazon and social media marketing (paid)
  • e-Commerce experience would be desirable / retail
  • It is essential that you are fluent in MS Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You will also be a competent user of Canva, Webflow and WordPress.
  • You will be organised, proactive and driven to deliver whilst having the ability to demonstrate a good balance of doing and managing.
  • It is preferable that you have worked within the Toy, or related, Industry for over 5 years.
  • You will role model our company values and use them to guide personal and team behaviours.
  • It is essential you are professional and collaborative in your approach to all tasks with all colleagues and can build and maintain strong working relationships – we are ‘One Family’ at Golden Bear
  • You will possess exceptional critical-thinking and analytical skills and have the natural ability to

feedback your findings through clear written and verbal communication, with all levels of seniority
