TRA’s Toy of the Year Awards this year has been somewhat different. The awards reflect the unique and challenging trading conditions seen in 2020 and honour those companies that have kept UK families happy and entertained during the pandemic.
Toy suppliers and retailers played a major part in keeping the nation’s children smiling, entertained, healthy and educated in 2020, resulting in a 5% increase in overall toy sales in a year heavily impacted by Covid-19.
Golden Bear Toys received a Highly Commended certificate for Hey Duggee and Bing.
Airing on CBeebies, Hey Duggee promotes fun, exercise, learning and even more fun! The show is based around a children’s after school group called The Squirrel Club, which loveable dog Duggee is the leader of and provides a safe and fun place for children to explore, learn and earn activity badges.
Bing Bunny is a lovable, energetic and curious pre-schooler who is learning that life is full of little adventures. Based on the beloved books by Ted Dewan, this animated series celebrates the joyful, messy reality of pre-school life.
