New talent at Golden Bear

We are absolutely thrilled to have welcomed five new hires across our marketing and creative departments.

The new hires have come following the company’s recent reports of sales growth and further investment into its sales and marketing capabilities and design facilities.

Caroline Martin and Jonathan Williams have been appointed to the roles of Senior Brand Manager, and National Account Manager respectively. In addition, Kate Goss joins the business as Creative Manager, Heather Preece as Graphics Designer, and Niamh Beer as Digital Marketing Coordinator.

Caroline will work closely with the brand team to implement and progress processes and strategies to best support new product development based on consumer insight and trend research. Caroline brings years of leading product and brand abilities with diverse, cross-sector experience and a strong record of change and transformation management.

Jonathan will lead the management and growth of the company’s major UK retailer accounts. He comes equipped with 20 years of experience in sales, 10 of which have been for major accounts, and has worked with market-leading global brands.

'My main experience is in the Home and Garden channels and I have worked for a number of market-leading global brands. Having a 5-month-old son really helps me to understand the toy world!- Jonathan Williams

Kate Goss joins the business as Creative Manager. As a team leader with strong commercial acumen, Kate will be maximising the team’s output and overseeing asset creation, design, and management for all areas of the business.

‘I have a worked within design and retail buying for over 20 years and have a wealth of experience on a variety of product categories ranging from towels to gifting. I am excited to embark on a new adventure at Golden Bear, what a dream job to have fun and play with toys while working!- Kate Goss

Heather Preece is the company’s new graphic designer and will be working alongside Kate to create engaging innovative artwork, packaging style guides, and presentations, helping to mould the visual presence of Golden Bear’s brands for both the physical and digital marketplace.

‘I knew I wanted to be a graphic designer when my mum explained that designers created the Argos catalogue, and I followed this passion through school. I graduated from Hereford College of Arts in 2021, and since then I’ve landed an amazing job at Golden Bear Toys. I can realise a dream and help design things sold in Argos! I’ve already learnt so much about the industry, am surrounded by a brilliant team and I’m excited to see what the future brings at Golden Bear!’- Heather Preece

Niamh Beer joins the company’s growing Marketing Department as the new Digital Marketing Coordinator. Niamh will focus on driving sales via owned online channels and those of retail partners, whilst also developing the company’s website, virtual sales tools, and social media platforms.

After graduating in 2021 from my Digital Marketing Management Master’s degree I had aspirations to work somewhere exciting and fun and my new position at Golden Bear Toys has given me that. I have such a fantastic opportunity to develop my marketing skills. I have already learned so much and I am eager to learn more from the fantastic team I have around me. I’m so excited to see where this role can lead.”- Niamh Beer
